Navigating the terrifying halls of the Raccoon City Police Department in Resident Evil 2 requires careful resource management and attention to environmental clues. Among the various locks and puzzles scattered throughout the building, the Waiting Room safe stands out as an early opportunity to acquire a critical weapon upgrade. Knowing the exact combination allows players to open the safe instantly without needing to backtrack for the document later in the campaign.
Location of the Waiting Room Safe
The Waiting Room is situated on the second floor of the police station, directly accessible from the east side of the Main Hall. Players will find the safe tucked quietly behind the main desk counter inside this room. Because this location is accessible early on, opening it promptly gives players a noticeable advantage in upcoming encounters.
The Waiting Room Safe Combination
To unlock the safe, players must input the exact sequence using the direction dial controls. The code required for opening this safe is Left 6, Right 2, and Left 11. Turning the dial carefully and confirming the final input will unlock the door immediately regardless of whether you are playing a First Run or 2nd Run scenario.
Rewards Inside the Safe for Leon and Claire
The contents of the Waiting Room safe vary depending on which character you are currently controlling. Playing as Leon awards the Muzzle Brake attachment for his Matilda handgun, which significantly reduces muzzle climb and recoil during rapid fire. For Claire, the safe contains the High-Capacity Magazine for her JMB Hp3, increasing her weapon's ammo capacity up to 26 rounds.
Strategic Value for Your Playthrough
Securing early weapon upgrades improves combat efficiency while conserving ammunition during intense zombie engagements. Equipped attachments allow players to eliminate threats faster, ensuring safer navigation through the police department's shadowy corridors. Taking a moment to unlock this safe provides immediate tactical benefits that pay off throughout the survival horror journey.
