Lieutenant General Manoj Pande is new Army chief

  • Lieutenant General Manoj Pande appointed the new Chief of Army Staff. He will succeed General M M Naravane on May 1.

  • The Vice Chief of Army Staff, Lt General Pande will be the first officer from the Corps of Engineers to become the COAS.

    Pande will be the 29th Army chief and the first engineer to become the chief of army staff (COAS). He will take charge on 1 May. Manoj Chandrashekhar Pande has been chosen to succeed MM Narvane as the next Indian Army Chief
