Archana Kamath became the first women’s National table tennis champion from the State in over 50 years when she triumphed in Cuttack.

The State last produced a women’s National table tennis champion in 1968, when Usha Sunderraj won her fifth and final title in Jabalpur. Archana Rao (Vishwanath) got to the final at the 1992 Goa Nationals but lost.
