179 infant deaths in U-K dist in 2018
- As per the reports of the Health Department, as many as 179 infants have died in Uttara Kannada district between January and November 2018. In the same period, as many as eight women lost their lives during childbirth.
- In the year 2016, Uttara Kannada district recorded 172 infant and two maternal deaths and in 2017, 179 infants and ten maternal deaths.
